Hey, I’m Michael! I’m a private practice dietitian on a mission to help you feel confident and create a life you LOVE living.

I grew up with poor eating and lifestyle habits. Nutrition felt hard, I was frustrated, confused, and unhappy. It was time for change, and I decided to take my health, nutrition, and confidence into my own hands. My entire life I’ve loved basketball. In my first two years of high school, I was cut from the team and crushed that something I loved so much was taken away. My nutrition and physical activity were a problem.

I began creating better food habits, prioritized movement, and began learning about food. Over the course of roughly one year, I lost 60 pounds. But it wasn’t just about the weight, it was about taking control of my life and creating a life I wanted to live. The approach wasn’t a diet. It was a decision to improve my lifestyle and follow a way of eating that I enjoy. Over a decade later, the weight has stayed off, my confidence is higher than ever and I LOVE the life I live.

My Story

MY APPROACH TO NUTRITION AND HEALTH

Unrealistic FADs, misconceptions about food, and short-term diets without habit change have made nutrition incredibly confusing and frustrating for most people. Dieting trends, “influencers”, and misleading information have made nutrition and wellness more challenging than ever. In the midst of the latest FADs, detoxes, and restrictive diets, I’m an advocate for evidence-based approaches with purpose.

I’m a foodie at heart and trust me, I LOVE to eat. Health is important and your life is meant to be enjoyed. Food is culture. Food is tradition. Food is social. Food is nourishing. Food is a necessity. And you shouldn’t go your whole life stressed, frustrated, and confused about it.

Consistent - Flexible - Intentional are three key pillars of my approach.

Without being consistent, you’ll be caught up in endless cycles of dieting for weight loss or health.

Being flexible in your nutrition allows you to be human and adhere to a lifestyle you’ll be able to maintain. The restrictive diets and FADS, sure aren’t that.

Intentional actions with your nutrition and movement are essential. You need to be confident that your habits line up with the goals you’re trying to reach. Together, we’ll come up with intentional actions that work for your individual preferences and goals.
